Region: South
Emblem: Guitar; upper-case "TN" Tennessee is famous for its musical heritage. It is the home of Memphis and Nashville, cities of great importance in the history of rock and roll, the blues, and country music. Additionally, a guitar (among other instruments) and the phrase "musical heritage" appear on the state quarter.
Field: Same form as current flag The same essential forms of the current state flag are preserved, but the three-stars-inside-a-roundel symbol has been replaced with the new emblem. The vertical bars at right were added to help distinguish the flag when it hangs limp from a pole; they continue to serve the same purpose.
